Idea Presentation - My Pitch

For my Pitch I have chosen to do a Psychological Thriller as I have wider knowledge on this sub-genre due to watching many films, famously directed by David Fincher and Christopher Nolan such as Fight Club, Memento and Inception.

Title:

Catch Hell

Plot:

The plot will consist of two main characters, the strong and determined Detective Cole and the psychologically disordered Tommy Regent, in an interrogation room. Here Detective Cole is investigating the murder of Tommy Regent's wife, however through the past traumatic events, Tommy's memory is blurred and can only remember items and short scenes that link to the murderer. Through interrogation and forced flashbacks, the mystery is revealed to us.

This fits into the sub-genre of a psychological thriller as the main character, Tommy Regent, is psychologically disordered, and uses flashbacks of traumatic events to solve the mystery.

How does this appeal to the Audience:

This appeals to the audience as it allows the audience to try to solve the mystery, they are given clues and clues throughout the movie and just when they are certain of who the murderer is, there is a twist.
